DIY
Amongst reporting to my job for the remaninder of the Labor Day weekend, I plan on engaging in some DIY projects around the house. The shrubs that are in front of the house need a little sprucing and my yard just needs some color altogether. There are dead spots that I loathe and I just want greener grass altogether before I start the “landscaping”. Notice landscaping is in quotes. I don’t know a THING about landscaping but how hard can it be right? I think I can decorate pretty well, or so I’ve been told. Usually, my creative process comes from me just sitting around in the room from every angle and just envisioning what I would like to see in each corner. But, I digress.
I’ve always liked flowers ever since my grandmother used to MAKE me help her plant them and tend to her garden. I could remember helping her water the flowers and her garden because she always wet me with water afterwards–and what kid doesn’t like to get sprayed with the hose pipe on a hot, Louisiana, summer day? I saw a jungle jim for Iyanna (and Imari, eventually) that I thought about putting in the back yard. I also need some deck furniture and some type of treatment for the wood that the deck was built with.
Inside: Whozers! From the laundry room to Imari’s room to Iyanna’s room and back to my room is a JUNGLE! I strongly believe that my daughter has EVERY toy that was ever created. I’m still trying to think of a concept for Imari’s room. I think I’m going to use Elmo, since Iyanna insists. It seems a little outragious to add a crib and other things to a room that Imari will never occupy. Umm yea, he’s too busy curling under me or taking up the entire bed. I don’t know who sleeps worse–an 8-month-old or a 3-3/4 year old..
I wish I could take some before and after pictures but I can’t locate either one of my cameras which is SO not good. I want a new one anyway–a Nikon. In the midst of Kyesha, Josh, and I playing with the Wii in Best Buy and then looking for her iPhone that she ALWAYS misplaces, I got the chance to play with a few. I also got the chance to look at some laptops and since I’m an hp junkie, I fell in love with this hp laptop. In a few more weeks, he and I will reunite!
Goodness–look at what boredom can do–make you ramble. Oh well. I’ll get back to planning my projects today. I might be able to use my phone to take a few pictures–as if anyone cares.

Do you see where that little push pin is? That is where I reside. . . and I am so contemplating on leaving work RIGHT NOW to return to my humble abode. I have nothing to talk about, nothing to ramble about, etc. I am happy. I plan to enjoy myself this Labor Day weekend laboring away for $27.00/hr.
Enjoy your Labor Day weekends!
