School’s Out – Kinda.

I’ve been trying to get into the habit of blogging on the regular like I used to, but it doesn’t seem like that is working out too well. Life is going. Good and bad things have occurred but as always, I endure and emerge from all of the misfortune. Aside from that, Iyanna, Imari, and I have made it through an entire school year. Looking back, there were moments where I couldn’t recall how I was actually able to wake up and begin the day.

Getting my daughter, niece, and son ready at 6:00 AM dropping them off at school for 8:00-8:30 PM, running errands/cleaning up before I had to go to school, then from school to work, then from work to my residence to prepare them for bed so we could do it all the next morning.

Nevertheless, it was done. I did it and I honestly feel like that is an accomplishment for me. It’s an accomplishment to simply say my daughter didn’t miss ONE day of school even though I have a ton of things going on with me alone. I guess it’s safe to say I’m Superwoman because I’m not believing anything other than that.

The summer is approaching and I’m planning a few vacations—nothing extraordinary like I had originally planned and that’s solely due to the expenses that occurred in regards to my car. My family and I had decided to go to Disney World but when car repairs are almost equivalent to the cost of going to Disney World, you have to choose which one is more important. And well, since Disney World isn’t going anywhere, we’ll embark on that adventure in due time.

School is starting in two weeks and my financial aid is all screwed up—but what else is new? Southern University refuses to make the financial aid process easy for me. It’ll kill them to do so. But, that hasn’t stopped me before. I have 11 classes left to take before I’m throwing up the deuces and I’m looking forward to only having 9 left when the Fall semester gets here. Needless to say, next week is going to be hectic, my classes will most likely be purged, but I WILL NOT miss a class.

Mother’s Day EVERY Day.

Yes. Yesterday, the world celebrated Mother’s Day and maybe I should have had this post ready yesterday, but isn’t everyday Mother’s Day? Of course. .

I think the thing I love most about Mother’s Day and any holiday, are the homemade gifts that I get from my children. They are always so eager to show me something they’ve created just for me. They put their all into their little creation and it really warms my heart. These are the moments that I treasure. And just like my mom, I also keep a lot of the things that my siblings and I have made.

I loved the gift that Jon got for me. It was totally unexpected but appreciated, nonetheless. How can any guy go wrong with shoes? Although the middle part of my Mother’s Day was spent at work, I was able to attend church that morning and I was able to relax for the remainder of the day once I got off. I’ve been working 6 days straight and I’m tired. The Spring semester has ended and I plan on getting some rest in before the Summer semester begins.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Mother’s Day. =)
