So, I did the Color Run. My very first 5K ever. I meant to do a post write after I completed this back in April, but so many things occurred and I was constantly in motion that I didn’t really get around to it. I know a lot of my readers follow me on Instagram where I shared some pictures there after the race. Nevertheless, here we go.

I can understand now why people run. It’s revitalizing. It’s rejuvenating. It’s soothing. Of course you’re tired, but at the same time, there’s a feeling of accomplishment, adrenaline, a lot “feel goods” flowing through your body. Or maybe that’s just me.

One of my old coworkers joined in on the fun and it was really one of the best days of my life. It felt good to walk.. and walk.. and walk.. and not to mention, to have colored powder/cornstarch thrown at you along the way make it even more fun.

I’m starting to see more and more races like these here in Louisiana and I couldn’t be happier. While I don’t plan to participate in all of them, the next race I want to participate with my family. I’m sure it’ll be a blast.

They had one in DC this past weekend that I wanted to participate in but I was out of town. 🙁 I haven’t done one yet but I would like to try at least once. Yay for you!

You really should! They have so many different ones so if you missed The Color Run, you can probably find a similar one. I know we have Color Me Rad, The Color Run, and one other one.

Yay for the Color Run! Ours was a couple of weeks ago (though I didn’t run it). It looks like SO much fun!

Congratulations on your first 5K! (And you’re right – they DO feel good!)

Ha! I was going to ask if you trained to run 5k beforehand but it seems as if you walked. 🙂 The color run looks like so much fun! How long did it take?

I don’t really remember how long it took. It may have taken about 2-3 hours because I walked and I ran a little, but not more than I walked! LOL! And also, there were so many people that they only let a few start at a time and then after we were finished, we just hung out and danced. It was awesome!

The next one, I plan to do more running. I’m not promising anything though! LOL!

I did one last year. It was my first 5K and I had a blast. glad you enjoyed yourself girl! It sparked an urge in me to start running on a regular and now I’m on a mission to do the Boston Marathon next year.

I know exactly what you mean. I got that urge too. As soon as I figure out a schedule, I want to make running a frequent thing.

Yay for your first 5K! Maybe the running bug has bit you!? It just happens to people after their first racing event, and, yes, the runner’s high is quite addictive and keeps you wanting more. My friend did this race, and the one they have here in San Diego is way too big and crowded for me. But I do love the smaller 5Ks, and maybe would do this run in a smaller city. -Jess L

This is awesome! I’m hoping that if I keep it up, I’ll be able to run my first 5k soon! Thanks for sharing this, I’ve been slacking off the past few weeks and I needed this motivation!!

Yo! I need this run in my life! I wonder if they have any of these in the Atlanta area. That’s so awesome that you had the cahones to run a 5K. I now applaud myself for running 15 min without a break, lol, I’m getting there. It’s not just you who feels that way about running, it’s exhausting but at the same time you feel so badass while doing it/after it’s done. Love it! And love these photos!
