I know it’s been rather quiet around these parts. I’ve been trying to recoup from my weekend in Dallas and now my weekend participating in homecoming festivities at the university I attend. I don’t usually do too much, but I always attend the greek show, tailgate, and try to attend the halftime show being as though we have the best band in the land.
This year was much like last year except for the fact that I overslept and didn’t get on campus in time to get the real food. But thank God for food trucks. Anywho, even though we lost our homecoming game after going into overtime, the band definitely did not disappoint.
Later on, my friends and I made plans to go out. And while I wanted to wear this cute fitted dress I found at Forever21, so did everyone else on my timeline so I had to change. If it’s one thing I hate, it’s seeing someone dressed exactly like you at the same party as you. Reason #245 why I love thrifting.
I decided to go with a thrifted skirt I was sure no one would have on, a bandeau top, and Steve Madden Deeny pumps. It still wasn’t what I wanted to wear but I think I put it together well. And remember when I said one day I’ll be bold enough to rock a red lip? Yea, well.. I did that and I loved the way it looked.
Ya’ll, after leaving the party at 4AM and feeling my feet burning from dancing in 5″ heels, I am done for the year. I definitely enjoyed myself with my best friends and classmates, but I know I won’t be able to handle too many more nights like this. Sure, I had fun.. lots of it, but these last few weekends are enough for the rest of year. And that’s perfectly fine with me. It’s time for pumpkin patches, trick or treating, birthdays, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and preparation for the new year. And that’s definitely worth the turn down.

October 28, 2013 at 2:05 pmGirl, believe me I completely understand your plight of taking a blog break to catch up after spending some weekends away. Mexico had me overwhelmed to the max so I took a week off of blogging. Your homecoming looks so cool! I’m sad your team didn’t win, but at least the band gave you a good show. My team NEVER wins lol which is why I don’t go to the games but maybe next year I’ll go to Homecoming since it’ll be my last fall there. I looooooove your outfit, that thrifted skirt is so unique and I love the way it hugs your body. And that red lip you’re rocking is something fierce!
And my weekend was good. A little busy but things are starting to balance out which I’m thrilled about 🙂 Thanks for the update love 🙂

October 29, 2013 at 1:29 pmSexy Mama, you looking good over there, seriously. I’m happy to read that you had a great time at your homecoming and you deserve some “me time” so I know your feet hurt but I know you danced the night away and made it count.
I must confess I did end buying those zigi soho shoes in your last post…. you inspired me to get them lol and for that price you really can’t beat that.

October 30, 2013 at 4:18 amI am diggin’ that skirt and you’re working that red lip. I tend to have two long nights of fun about twice a year because I am not about that life, lol. Kudos to those who can do it every weekend and/or night.
