Don’t kill me for this being the first post of 2014. Life has been busy, but in a good way nonetheless. The family is fine. We celebrated my son’s 5th birthday last week. He truly enjoyed it and also enjoyed his gifts. Boys and their RC toys! We’re still getting settled into the new place although it’s extremely hard living in two different places. But, I’m actually loving every minute of it. I don’t have to worry about the loud music and bounce/twerk contests, the girl who sounds like kermit the frog arguing with her 20 girlfriends, the loud children in the morning, etc. We made a haul yesterday and we finally set up our beds so no more sleeping on air mattresses. Thank God! This whole deal has taught me a lot about patience and asking for help, especially since I sprained my ankle bringing a box and a plant down the stairs a few weeks back. That was one of the scariest injuries I’ve ever experienced considering the fact that I’ve never had an injury. I still have quite a few things that I want to do like paint a few more rooms and change the faucets. And outside, I can’t wait to add an arbor and perhaps a pergola. But that won’t be until Spring/Summer time. My pinterest board overfloweth..
School starts today. I’m a bit excited about this semester because it means that I’m closer to completing the graduate program, which means I’m closer to getting those extra thousands added to my salary. Hello! I’ve been doing well says my 3.7 cumulative GPA. (: blows horn. I guess you can say I’m prepared although I don’t have my work area set up at home. I haven’t even gotten the chance to do what I love to do at the beginning of each semester–shop for new school supplies. (read: pens, pens, and more pens) I’m a nerd.
Work is coming along fine. I’m starting a new project with a new client today in the area of testing, documentation, and debugging. I’m extremely excited about that, especially with the fact that I have the opportunity to work from home since everyone on my team works from their home. It’s a lot that I have to learn along with the classes that I’m taking this semester but it’s nothing that I can’t handle. I’ve come up with a schedule and if I plan to keep my sanity, it’s best that I follow it. Oh and I also finally get to use my home phone, after a year. But that also means I have to buy a home phone as well. Ehh!
I promise to catch up on all that I’ve missed with you guys. I miss logging on to hear how you all are thriving and living beautiful lives. I hope you all are well!
