August has made it’s way to the forefront which pretty much means all things back to school for us. I just finished my last core course for my Master’s on 7/31 and I’ll be completing my last semester beginning August 18. I’m not ready for my kids to return just yet and to be honest, I think I need about two more weeks of rest before I rev things back up. So since time is not on my side, I’ve got to get things in gear.

I usually make my to-do list at the beginning of the week to give myself an outlook and allow myself to focus on what needs to be done. This method has worked for me in regards to the minuscule tasks that I need to complete. But on a larger scale, it doesn’t work as well for me. I’ve seen Weekly Wishes around the blogosphere but after visiting Valla over at The Positive Exchange, I adopted her idea to do Monthly Wishes. So here goes:

+  Get ready for school. -____________________- No matter how much I complain, Monday, August 8 is happening and two weeks after, Monday, August 18 is happening. I usually find joy in back to school shopping – and I probably would now if they weren’t returning next week.

+  Start preparing for my STEM workshop. So I decided a while back that I wanted to provide a free STEM workshop, or a maybe a few, where I’d teach students how to build robots, program, etc. I’ve gotten the bulk of the planning done and started saving to be able to provide the kits and lunches. There’s a few finishing touches that I need to attend to and then I’m ready to launch in September, hopefully. I’ll save the deets for a separate post.

+  Continue my workouts. After a 7 month hiatus–judge me–I got back in the gym and I’m trying to make it a regular thing. I’m interested in toning up and not necessarily losing any weight although I’m 170lbs. To be honest, I just love the way I feel during and after a workout. Pushing past times and limits that I previously set for myself.

+  Finish my Thesis by September. Chile.. Let us ALL pray.

+  Plan my first trip where I HAVE to get on a plane. Because I’m 27 and it’s way overdue.

+  Forgiveness. Something horrible transpired and I just want to put it behind me and move on. I’m working on forgiving myself for allowing myself to trust and help someone so vile and evil where in turn, they betrayed and hurt me to my core. And also, I’m working on asking God to provide me with the willpower to forgive that person as well. It’s hard to forgive people who have hurt you. It’s harder to forgive people who have hurt you to your core repeatedly. But God will see me through this.

..here’s to August. Praying for the best.

You will soon find the grace to forgive the person who has hurt you. Trust me, I know first hand how it feels to be hurt repeatedly (by my mother no less) and I can honestly and in all sincerity say that I have forgiven her. It will take time to heal from your hurt, but you will forgive again. 🙂

love the monthly wishes idea! I need to try that. Grace is a powerful thing when it comes to forgiveness I’m still learning how to deal with it myself and wishing others would learn to forgive as quickly as God has forgiven us. we all deserve mercy and grace upon us in certain situations.

Unfortunately, forgiveness is the only way to do what’s best for you so I know that whatever it is hurts but I think you’re making a step in the right direction by moving forward and forgiving this individual/happening. I think Monthly Wishes are a bomb idea, big ups to Valla! I’m excited for your ride on this plane and where you plan to go! And good luck to jumping back into mommy mode with the kiddies and their school needs. It seems hard to balance but you are definitely a superwoman 🙂

I thought about doing the monthly goal thing, but I never stuck to it. I’ve been in school non stop. I went all year, didn’t take a break for the summer, and now I only get maybe 6 days in between to relax -___- lol I feel your pain. I LOOOOVE school shopping lol. Thats the best thing. I love getting new notebooks and pens, and folder, and highlighters, its so fun for me. I thought I was weird lol. I found your blog again! So thats good! x

I think it’s great that you’re writing out your goals, as it gives you a way to hold yourself accountable. Wishing you all the best and hoping that you achieve all of them, especially the last one. I know how hard it is to forgive someone who has hurt you but you have to remember that forgiving is the only way to move forward and be happy. It doesn’t necessarily mean that you have to let that person back in or allow them another opportunity to hurt you. There’s this one quote I love that says: it’s still love, it’s just from a distance now. I think it’s the perfect way of thinking about someone that hurt you 🙂

Good luck with August! I’m very proud of you, you’re almost done with school! Yay! 🙂 I need to take a moment to write out my goals because I feel like I have been floundering. I really need to take a step back from the fun, and try to do some serious deep thought life planning…even though that doesn’t even remotely sound fun! Ah, well! I need to at least write something down so I know its real…….

I have never laid eyes on you in person but I consider you my little sister and I am so DAMN proud of you. These past few years that I have been following you have been filled with tragedy and many ups and downs but you’ve kept moving and inspiring.

I’m not going to get all mushy but keep it up!!

Good luck with everything. You seem to have a heck of a full plate but as far as I’ve seen, you’ve always managed despite time’s limitations. It’s always a good thing to see someone moving forward!
