Over the weekend, The Guy and I decided to take on a project that I had been lusting over for some time now: Barn Doors. I’ve been wanting barn doors for my office/Mom Cave for some time now. Since we’re sort of in limbo with the kitchen because counter tops will take approximately SIX weeks before they are installed, it was the perfect time to knock some of the smaller projects out.

Making the barn doors was sooooo easy. While I can’t say that I did everything on my own, I did operate the saw under supervision, used the nail gun to piece it together, and I stained them. While building the doors were a piece of cake, installing the track was not. There are still some improvements that need to be made, but they are up and I am absolutely IN LOVE with them. And now I have the privacy I need to work on my projects for my clients.

The house is returning to home, slowly, but surely. Its been an interesting process to see it all unfold before me. And this process has taught me so much about patience and gratefulness and so much more. I’d be remiss if I didn’t admit that I often think about losing it all again. It’s a constant thought as the rebuilding and restoration projects reach their completion. And while it’s a constant reflection, the only difference now is that I’m not afraid.

And I don’t know what to call that feeling. I’m not sure if that’s strength or faith or a combination of both. But I’m grateful for the feeling.

They look really nice! I’ve never been much of a decorative person but within the last year I’ve found myself making adjustments to parts of the house. It made me want to make more.

I would say it’s a combination of both and to have that feeling is amazing love. I absolutely love the barn doors, they came out beautiful. I can’t wait to see the other transformations that you do within your home.

I’m so impressed you MADE the doors, as opposed to just buying them! They look great.

Absolutely love. Like seriously love. You should just call up Joanna Gaines now. Beautiful.

I think you’re feeling a combination of both. And that’s a good thing.
