It’s been over a month since my last update. I never intend on there being such vast space between posts, but then life happens. I’ve been uninspired due to other unfortunate happenings in my life and I’ve allowed being in that tough space to affect me. When this happens, I oftentimes forget to appreciate the space that I’m in. How far I’ve come. And how much there is to look forward to. Because when you’re in this space — this abyss of regret, sorrow, and failures, it’s easy to forget and it’s a bit easier to wallow in your pain.

And then you snap out of it. Or if you’re like me, when you’re too deep in your wallowing, you have family that’ll help you snap out of it.

So in the spirit of snapping out of it, and before I start showing my face around these parts again, I’ll be providing myself with a whole lotta self care. Starting with a my first ever trip to a different continent. Two continents to be exact — Europe with a final destination of South Africa. I haven’t even made it there and I’m already planning on when I want to return, how I can afford it for a family of four, and how my kids will be able to endure such a long flight. But that’s for later.. Right now, I’m looking forward to the next few days when I can immerse myself in the cultures of two different countries and hopefully not become too immersed that I send for my belongings and children and never return to the states.

This will also give me the much needed, extended, unannounced hiatus that I’ve needed and to return with new content on a more consistent basis.

I’ll see you all in a few. Godspeed! <3

Have a great trip. I can’t wait to read about your experiences while there and all the exciting things you did. I know that your expression in your writing will bring us right into that world and part of the country. Godspeed!!
