It’s still entirely too hot for me to officially slide into my Fall vibe. The mornings have barely cooled off and even by the afternoon, it’s back in the 90s. If I wasn’t on the hunt for candles and didn’t see or smell Pumpkin/Apply Spice EVERYTHING (unfortunately), I would still think it’s August. And I’m actually kinda mad about it. But at least there’s Fall television, right?
Well, there is but only if you have the time to indulge. Five days a week I am on some kinda field: the football field as my daughter’s cheers or the soccer field since my son has joined a recreational league. If I’m not on the field, my chauffeur’s hat is on. By the time we get home, it’s close to 7PM. After dinner, homework, and a shower, I’m ready to dive deep into my covers. And even though I am completely drained, I’m still grateful. Grateful that my kids are healthy enough — physically, mentally, emotionally, etc. — to live such active lives.
I have my own things going on where I’m trying to learn new programming languages, read all the books on my never-ending To-Be-Read List, and maintain a healthy lifestyle. While I am limited when it comes to having the time to do all these things, I’m honestly doing a good job using my time wisely. My car has it’s own library. I’m making good use of the recreational room at work by hopping on the treadmill and I walk in the mornings before work. (btw, I’m down 30 lbs!) And sometimes, I stay up way too late deep in Python, Java, and/or Javascript syntax. But now I realize just how much valuable time I’ve spent watching tv.
There’s still a television on the wall in my bedroom. Let me make that clear. I haven’t reached the point where I want to remove it completely because there are still slow mornings that are definitely a necessity. Especially for when the weather really shows up and a cool morning breeze that brings in that Fall scent through my bedroom window and serves as my alarm clock.

October 6, 2019 at 8:01 pmI’m so with you on this blasted warm weather. I prefer sweater weather. But Fall TV has been a bonus. Ain’t gonna lie though, I do need to cut back…
Congratulations on your weight loss. That’s my goal. And my need. The doctor told me I’m pre-diabetic and need to lose my middle. Obesity and all that comes with it runs heavily in my family, so….
Your kids are growing up way too fast. I remember when they were little people now they’re cheering and soccering…. Wow!

October 7, 2019 at 12:15 pmI always forget that you’re here in Louisiana now. You definitely feel my pain. LOL!
My mother was diabetic and while the doctor says I’m not at risk, I want to keep it that way. It was hard to push past my bad habits but seeing results and just feeling better overall keeps me going.

October 19, 2019 at 7:09 pmUm, let’s trade spaces. You can have this New York cold (I’ll be out of here top of 2020 – insert palm tree here), you’ll get all the fall you need. And I want to change my career, someone is trying to encourage me to do computer science, so since your brain has all this magic, we can switch places LOL HA!. Those kids of yours are awesome. BUT 30lbs! SIS! I’ll rant about my lack of effort in the gym soon, until then I’ll live through you!
