You know, a lot of people ask me why I travel so much. Or what it is about travelling that gets me so excited. I guess the best explanation or answer that I can provide to those type of questions would be that for me, going to new places and experiencing new things is quite exciting. That’s typically my goal–to travel for the experience. And in turn, those experiences provide me with a clear head. It’s my mental therapy while I’m able to soak in different cultures.

Speaking of travelling, I took a quick trip to Dallas to see my brother, visited Magnolia Farms in Waco, and had the best grilled cheese sandwiches I could have ever asked for. I think ultimately, Texas is the place that I’d like to build my dream home before I move to some remote town up north and retire on a farm or unleash my inner nomad and live life in different places. (Yes, really.)

But being somewhere other than my place of normalcy allows me to relax and not worry about all that’s to come. It gives me the opportunity to calm myself and figure things out if there’s anything that’s plaguing me. The last few weeks have been heavy for me and my recent trip to visit my brother in Texas gave me some time to kinda sort things out. But not only for sorting, but to acquire some courage to get through all that was coming.

This week and last week has been filled with interviews. I finally figured out what I want to be when I grow up. And with figuring that out, I also figured out all it would take to reach that goal and started putting things in motion and putting myself back out on the market. My current job is still fulfilling, but right now, I’m viewing it as preparation for the next step that I want to take.

The nights have been long but all have produced some pretty interesting results that I’m quite excited about. Some things are even happening overnight. I’m just thankful that all of the hard work that I’ve put in over the years is being recognized and speaks before I even have to. That’s a wonderful feeling.

What are some of the reasons why you travel?

    Lord! that sandwich looks good.

To answer your question, some of my main reasons why I travel is to get a piece a mind. In think every now and then you have to get away from your know and go some where either you never been before or just some where you always get another sense of “home” feeling. I don’t get to travel as much as I want too but I do plan on doing it more often because I’m looking in to relocating out of Atlanta. I think it’s that time to experience something new.

Would you believe me if I said that I don’t get to travel as much as I want to either? LOL! I’m serious — I wish I had a bank account with unlimited funds, but here I am. However, I am definitely grateful for all of the experiences that I’ve been able to have thus far.

I wish you well on your future travels and relocation. Can’t wait to see where you decide.

I travel because I’m a nomad at heart. We grew up in the military so home was wherever we woke up. So being still is hard for me. I also love the experience and seeing new things. Last, I’m an accent buff. I love hearing different accents. Weird.

I’m wishing you all kinds of goodness and happiness with your future endeavors. Continue to pray and hold your head up. I’ve said it before and I’ll keep saying it: I’ve watched you grow and adapt to so much over the years, I’m so very proud of you. xoxo

Not weird at all. I think it’s pretty cool to get a chance to experience so many different cultures — accents included.

And thank you so much — I’d like to owe a little of my growth to blogging.. or the blogging world. Being able to interact with so many amazing and inspiring women, such as yourself, it has really changed so much in my life.

I love the new ness, the chance to see things differently. Travel gives you wisdom and perception. I legit have to go somewhere new every so often just to keep me grounded in my everyday life! And I’m mad at you and Mimi both being so CLOSE and just skipping over Houston! Lol I’m also super happy you are out & able to see the world! It’s so much more beyond what you we get accustomed to!

LOL! You know it’s a shame that as close as Louisiana is to Houston, I have never been? I do plan to make it out there this summer though so I hope you’ll have some things planned for me. (:

I hear you about being somewhere you’re not used to allows the mind to just relax because there’s no routine to focus on. So happy to hear about all the new things going on with you, you go girl!
Continue to plan and make the damn thing happen!

I travel because I am student of this earth and human behavior. I love to learn the ins & outs of a new place and I love to see things with new eyes. I also love to meet people all around the world and connect with them. Nothing warms my heart more. Traveling is probably my biggest passion and like you, I hope to fulfill my inner nomad really soon!
