Ever since Disa suggested Recursion as a read, I’ve been hooked on reading thrillers and suspenseful novels. I typically read whatever sounds good based on the book jacket/synopsis, but I’ve been leaning more toward thrillers. I’ve set a strict budget for books this year so I plan to utilize my public library’s resources as much as I can. Plus, I just don’t have the room on my shelves to house any new books at the moment. But if I come across a must-have, I’ll find the room. Just not 20 like I usually buy.

I picked up The Hunting Party by Lucy Foley last week. I also stumbled upon Shari Lapena’s An Unwanted Guest at the thrift store for $.25 and couldn’t leave it. These two will have to hold me over until Matt Ruff’s The Destroyer of Worlds: A Return to Lovecraft Country is released in February. I preordered it last year and I’m excited to enter the Lovecraft Country Universe again.

Without any pressure, I’m planning to read 12 books for the year. In the first quarter, I only plan to read as much as I can with all the studying I need to do for the PMP. Keep me company on my reading journal here.

I haven’t used goodreads in a while, but I do have an account. I’ve been using the story graph.

I want to read sooooo bad! But I just can’t do yet. I’m hoping that I can read soon enough but let me put these reads on my list!

Finding the time lately has been sooooo hard. I’m not even putting pressure on myself. I’ve been slumped with parenthood and projects so whatever I get around to reading this year will suffice. LOL!

I love thriller and suspense novels. I especially love crime novels.
