41RNFGPAPYL__SS500_I finally read the novel “Push” by Sapphire. Never before have I been so moved and so touched. I’m hoping that the movie will live up to my expectations. While I was reading this book, I could visualize its context. I cried with Precious and I laughed with Precious. I felt her pain and her sorrow. I felt her ambition to be someone other than who her mom claimed all that she would be–A Stupid Cunt Bucket. There were times where I wanted to reach in and defend her. Then shortly afterwards, I would come to the realization that such was not possible.

I don’t want to go into TOO much detail and spoil it for those who would like to read the book. You won’t be disappointed. Contrary to popular belief, the book is actually easy to read and to understand if those are your intentions. I read the book within a couple of hours and I’m interested in reading more works by Sapphire. She’s such a talented being.

I was just in Barnes & Noble yesterday and was tempted to buy this book before going to the movies to see it. Now, I think I’m going to go back and get it! I haven’t a good read since…..high school! I’ve only heard good things from this book and Author. I can’t wait to see the movie though.

I used to go to Borders..or whichever store was in the mall and read the books for free!! lol

    It’s a good read, nevertheless.

I’d rather read the book first for any movie. Most of the times, the motion pictures leave out a lot of details that the books contain because they only have a certain amount of time anyways. Also, most of the times the books are published first so they will contain more details. 😀

Hm.. I have to put that on my books to purchase list. Honestly, I still haven’t completed the Twilight Series. LOL. I guess I need to get back to my reading.
