No, I’m definitely not pregnant. I don’t foresee anymore kids anytime soon. Join me in welcoming the new addition to my Gadget family: Sprint’s EVO. This phone is the most desired device on the market right now. It’s always sold out or on backorder. But I have it and I absolutely love it!
If I hadn’t misplaced my phone in my own house (yes, my own house), I wouldn’t have gotten this phone so soon. I expected to go into a Sprint store, get some sort of temporary phone until insurance replaced my trashy Instinct and go on about my day. I asked if the Evo was available, expecting to get the general and frequented response that it was out of stock, but when the sales guy said “I think..”, I was S-O-L-D. I bought the phone, screen protectors with anti-glare, and the case that you see to the left.
The apps are amazing. The screen is huge. It’s much bigger than the iPhone. There are a few apps that aren’t available such as Skype and Words With Friends, but Fring and iMovicha are available and work just as well. The Twitter for Andriod app is AMAZING. The retweet add-on is a must for me since it Twitter for Andriod doesn’t allow you to add to the message you wish to retweet. The camera, the vast amount of space, the antenna, etc. . everything on this phone is beneficial to me!
I’m still in the process of personalizing my phone to meet all of my needs. I didn’t think that would be so hard. The Evo offers six screens that you can add icons to and organizing them is taking a lot of my time. In the process, I’ve discovered a few apps that I know my life will no longer function without:
This is a must have. This feature allows you to download apps by scanning the code on the computer screen, compare prices by scanning the barcode of a specific item, and there is even an app that works with this one that will store you discount/rewards card.
You can use the barcode scanner to scan the code above and provide you with information that is associated with it. Most developers use these codes to give prospective users the option to download their app. Pretty innovative huh?

To all my iPhone and iPhone Killer users (read: Android Device Owners), what are your favorite apps?

September 19, 2010 at 2:32 amThat definitely is a very sexy phone. My sister has the samsung vibrant, in which she showed me today and I like that too. I love the Android platform, period. I currently still have the G1, but I do plan on purchasing another phone very soon. I’m just kind of turned off by the whole on-screen typing thing. I’m used to have keyboards/keypads on my phones. It would be something to get use to.

My husbands new phone HTC HD 2 looks like yours. He loves it and it’s the only phone with HD. Im sure you’ll enjoy it. I have the new 3g slide although he keeps trying to talk me into getting the HTC. We both have the barcode scanner .. its so friggin neat.
