The last few weeks have been a little hectic. It hasn’t been anything that I couldn’t handle, but I physically felt the effects of being pulled in several directions all at once. Taking 19 hours, an internship, and recently being asked to board a robotics project has me quite busy these days. Nevertheless, being involved in so much gives me a good feeling, aside from being physically drained by the end of the week. Luckily, I have vacation/personal hours stashed for a rainy day.
I took a few days off just so I can slow down. I’ve realized that going to work directly after I finish my classes doesn’t give me the time to reflect on the lectures that were given that day. I like the fact of being able to get out of school and go to the library for the solace that I need to reflect and get things done. It’s kind of hard to do that when you’re a mother full time and a full time employee.
Nevertheless, I’ve gotten a lot of accomplished in the past few days and I’ve had time to regain my focus, put things back into perspective, and adhere to my agenda.
How is everyone’s week going thus far?

February 8, 2012 at 8:28 amI can see where it could all get overwhelming. I know the feeling quite well. It’s a good thing you have vacation hours to use for downtime.

February 10, 2012 at 7:56 pmSame here. Being overwhelmed can stress you out as well. So I’m glad to hear you took days off to rest.
Xo!

February 12, 2012 at 8:55 pmGood for you, for taking some time to yourself. It’s important to do that when feeling overwhelmed BEFORE things get to be too much. I need to work on that… I tend to take my “break” once it’s too late.

February 19, 2012 at 9:30 pmSometimes I still find myself taking a break when it’s too late. I’m getting better at it though.

February 15, 2012 at 10:53 amShe is doing much better. We believe it to have been a food allergy of some sort. The day before when she was at school, she supposedly had ketchup on noodles or something and it made her get a fever. But she’s doing much better. :). Thank you for caring.
Getting another pet is like taking care of children. I honestly say that my pet is my child. I don’t have any children as you can tell, always wanted some, but I can’t afford them right now. Only animals. My baby is 9 years old if not older. Not sure when she was born but when I had picked her up at the shelter, she was 6 months old (she’s a tortoise shell). She’s an attention hog (to the max mind you!). But if she were to get out and not be afraid of the dogs, she’ll not be so needy. But she doesn’t like the dogs here 🙁 . Trying to get her used to them. But nope not gonna happen anytime soon I don’t think and it’s been since August since I’ve lived with this family.
I’m very proud of you for sticking with school. I had to take a leave of absence from school due to transportation issues, and the lack of energy which I am still feeling as well; as feeling nauseated and what else. However, my lab results came out normal again which is baffling me as to why, I’m still feeling this way unless I’m still in the sick bit? But, I didn’t even fill out the form to get me back into the school. I’m wondering if there is still time for that? Hmmm, I hated to do so as I really liked going to that school. But if I could go back, I would prefer online classes.
The portfolio will be up sometime today. Of course it’ll be all sketches for the time being until I can get a canvas going. I’ll also try photo manipulations and what not, for the portfolio. Two years ago, I would NOT have been able to draw a life portrait. My portraits always turn out like Picasso’s work. lol. It does! Now since I’ve been going to Art Institute, I’m bettering myself. I told myself I’m gonna better myself at drawing hands, and life portraits. And so far I have!! 5 years ago, I had trouble drawing hands, and now I can draw them! :). They’re still a little off, but they’re getting better, same with the life portraits.
Harmonizing is actually pretty darn good. Harmonizing, is where you can blend in with others when they sing. Kind of like sounding the same but it differs from the person depending on their vocal range as I’m a split I can harmonize as well and kinda sing higher then most as I have a really strong diaphragm. Like you I wish it automatically comes naturally to me. Like it does my sister. Her voice is really good but she needs to have a strong diaphragm but I’m getting her to work on it.
Oh btw, I hope you don’t mind that I “copied” your titles for the blog entries? Is it okay? We’ve been friends forever, and I hate copying others, but is it alright as long as I credit you? :).

February 19, 2012 at 9:35 pmAgain, glad your sis is doing better. I think it was some ground turkey because she broke out in hives and it scared me beyond belief. To this day, we’re still not quite sure if it was the turkey bacon or not, but I haven’t bought it since then and she hasn’t broken out in hives either.
And I don’t mind. (:

February 19, 2012 at 11:41 pmHey Carla! I’m sorry to hear about your hamster committing suicide like that! :O !!!
Actually; my diabetes is well under control. In fact it had stunned the P.A. so bad that he made a comment about it and said “If all of his diabetic patients were good as me, and kept it up like I’m doing, he’d kill a cat”. I was like bugged eyed out at that comment. Like UHM, you’re not coming near MY kitty! lol. But I knew what he meant and took it as a compliment.
My health right now is kinda baffling me. As I may have a UTI. Not really sure if I do or not. But I am due back for a lab for March. But my Thyroid and kidneys are doing excellent!
I’ve been to Weight Watchers before, and that’s how I lost most of my weight (besides the two strict diets I was on). I weighed 256 and now 186 and a half pounds I was 167 and was told if I could lose 7 more pounds I won’t be considered obese. 🙁 . Unfortunately I gained 15 lbs. within under a week 🙁 . I’m so mad at myself! They had to re-measure my weight twice to be sure. But yeah, my N.P. is referring me to Weight Watchers, I already have the calculator, so I’m hoping to use it again, and get better results this time around. I do need to eat more greens though and have been doing so. As well; as eating fruits and what not. Love ’em!!! But thank you. I’ll be sure to let my sissy know you said congratulations. She saw your name on my comment list and blog roll and she’s like “How am I up there? I don’t have a domain!!” lmfao it was so cute! I had to explain it to her that I have a friend named Carla but her real name is Rae. And afterwards she was like phew…lol it was cute! But yeah, Thank you so much!!
