This weekend, my siblings and I decided to head down to Nawlins for the weekend to celebrate my sister’s birthday and my recent assistantship. After literally spending all day at school on Friday, when Southern University doesn’t even have class, I was so beat that I really didn’t have the energy to even want to go. But, I pushed my lethargy aside, underpacked a bag, and headed out. We arrived in New Orleans around 10 PM, which was way past my bedtime and I just could NOT go out that night so I stayed behind and went to sleep.
The next morning, of course I was the first to wake up so I headed down to get some breakfast. *sigh* I wish I could wake up every morning with a plethora of breakfast foods to choose from. But, I digress. We headed out to walk around the city.

The Riverwalk
Along the Riverwalk
Preparing for the Superbowl – Jackson Square
Saint Louis Cathedral – Jackson Square
Calypso Tumblers – Jackson Square
Calypso Dancers – Jackson Square
My phone died so I couldn’t get more pictures, but after being called weird, strange, and every other variation for having the desire to want to capture New Orleans and its marvels, I didn’t even want to take anymore pictures. Nevertheless, I enjoyed myself, but I’d definitely try not to pack in 30 minutes.
Are you coming to New Orleans for the Superbowl? Mardi Gras?

I’ll be back for both.
Laissez les bons temps rouler!”

January 21, 2013 at 2:31 pmThat’s so funny – I was just at my friend’s Inauguration Brunch and they were talking about gong to New Orleans for the Super Bowl! I probably won’t go, but am wondering about going this summer for Essence Music Fest…

January 21, 2013 at 3:42 pmThe pictures you did take are great! You really take amazing pictures.
You obviously were not with bloggers because know the importance of pictures and would never call someone weird for taking them. In fact, we find them weird if no one takes pictures ;).

January 21, 2013 at 8:14 pmYou probably don’t remember me, much – but we used to talk a long time ago! Anyway, I’m glad you were able to do something fun and especially with your siblings! I’ve missed talking to you and leaving comments on your blog. I need to start back up. I’m glad things are looking up in your future and what not. Keep that head held high! You’ll go far!!! I know you can do it!

January 22, 2013 at 8:05 amI love that even though you live in LA and have probably been to New Orleans many times, you still want to take pics. I’m the same way! Some folks just don’t understand… 🙂
Girl, I didn’t even realize SB was in New Orleans this year. If Atlanta had won their game last week, I’m sure we would have been there.
Have a great week!

January 24, 2013 at 4:51 pmI’ve never been to Mardi Gras. It’s funny because so many people ask me have I ever been, and they always say that I should.

January 27, 2013 at 1:26 pmIt looks you had such a great time in New Orleans. I haven’t been there since the 90’s. I love the live music and the food there, also hearing people speak Cajun. Though its a dialect of french its so interesting to speak in two different french dialects with Cajuns.
Love your last photo of you in a mask. Did you make it?
