Today was the first day of my second semester as a graduate student. Surprisingly, it was also the first day of school that I’ve actually been present on. In the past, it seemed like it was always something that came up that would prevent me from being present on the first day of class. Other times, it was just because I lacked the motivation to return after a break. I must say, it felt good to finally be able to want to go and to be present.
Even with all the rain, I made it. I can’t say the same for the rest of my classmates because in both of my classes scheduled today, the room was scarce. Nevertheless, the lesson went on as planned and I enjoyed meeting my classmates and my instructors with whom I’ll be sharing my life with for the next 4 months.
Unfortunately, I was unable to capture a cute picture of my outfit because of the nasty weather, so I hope just the top, along with my tamed mane, will do. I actually couldn’t wait to pull out this recent thrifted Kenneth Cole sweater. It’s so soft and comfortable and I love the color. Also, my new specs came in. Ray Bans. Like?

I used to love it, both as a student and a teacher because it was so full of possibilities.
The sweater and the glasses are cute.

January 15, 2013 at 1:18 amAaaaah grad school the good ‘ole days. I had a love hate relationship with grad school…I loved the intellectual community + coffee shop study sessions but I hated being grad school poor (you know just enough but not really). LOL. It was all worth it though. You’ll see. Congrats on doing so well, a 3.5 is pretty darn AWESOME even more so with 2 kiddos in tow. Y’all are in my prayers. **hugs and hi5s**

January 21, 2013 at 12:52 pmHa! Yes. I hate being grad school poor as well. LOL! But, I’m making sure that there won’t be too much of a struggle by picking up all the assistantships and grant work that I can.

January 15, 2013 at 3:19 pmAww you look great girl; go head on with your motivated self. I love the new specs. I seriously need some. Duct tape and hot glue can’t save mine any longer. But that 250$ price tag is killin’ me. Good luck and blessings this semester!
