My kids had been begging me to take them to the library for some time now and every time I expected to take them, something came up. This time, we finally got around to going and they really enjoyed it. I had been some time before and loved the atmosphere. I spent most of my time outside by the lake, although if I would have had some food things would have been a bit better. LOL! Anywho, here are a few photos from our visits.
I love spending time here and so do the kids. My children completed the summer reading program and received a lot of cool prizes. They were able to pick out a new book and received a bag with a lot of cool coupons for treats and admission to attractions around the city. They really got a lot of cool stuff from reading but besides the prizes, they still love being there.
I am simply overjoyed that they love reading and that they love spending time at the library. It reminds me of my time that I used to spend there as a child.
To my mommies, do your children love spending time at the library?

August 3, 2013 at 5:35 pmYou’re so lucky to have kids that enjoy reading ! Hopefully this doesn’t change as they get older. It will make schooling that much easier for them in the long run 🙂

August 4, 2013 at 2:28 amIt’s so great that they enjoy the library, they will definitely grow up to enjoy reading and have good reading comprehension skills because of you introducing them to books at an early age. I haven’t taken my daughter in a couple of months, thanks for reminding me 🙂

August 9, 2013 at 11:10 pmI was a library junkie… dude! Seriously, the library is exactly across the street from my high school. That was our hang out spot. We use to race over there to get the first copy of a Zane book (before they were checked out) or any book that came out that we couldn’t afford at our age. My mom wasn’t really doing well financially so the library was the best way to read books and not pay. lol BET publishing books were a dream. I gave a true meaning to book worm. My daughter is in love with books as well but I bought all the books on her book shelf when I was pregnant so I wouldn’t have to visit a library. So I figure I have time to introduce her to that world. <—-(Total run on sentence) She will be starting Pre K 3 next month so it'll be soon.

August 26, 2013 at 5:57 pmI am not a mommy yet, however, I do remember the of going to the library as a child with my summer camp and actually being excited about reading a book. Kudos to you for setting the example and letting your babies know that it’s still cool to read. This up and coming generation has seemed to miss that.
