FAMILY.
The kids are doing just fine. My son graduated from Pre-K. He also received Mastery in every skill. My daughter is heading to the third grade and brought home good grades as usual. And as they are headed off to camp this upcoming Monday, I’m headed to school and work. Not fair!

SCHOOL.
The Spring semester finally came to an end which it seemed like it never would. I have one more course to take this summer and I have to present my topic. Once my topic is approved, I present it in the fall for graduation. That Master’s degree will be conferred for your girl.

And then I decided that I am going to go back for my Ph.D in Science and Math Education, also known as SMED.
Dr. Carla Buckner. Please say the DR.

WORK.
As I’ve mentioned before in my previous post, life has been pretty busy. My workload has picked up quite a bit, which is good but it also leaves me with little time left to come here and blog.

And as if I’m not busy enough, I’ve been invited back to my university’s engineering camp to teach robotics. That would mean that I’d have to get up at 5AM instead of 6:30 AM. I accepted anyway.
Because tuition = paid + a few extra Gs.

HOME.
Back in April, my mantle said “Chile, PLEASE!” and just gave up holding up my television. As a result, I had to rearrange my living room because I was NOT putting my new television back on the mantle.

I reinstalled the mantle, did a little rearranging, and I think I like the arrangement better. (More on this later.)

I went thrifting recently and found a lot of treasures – tables, desks, lamps, etc. I’ve missed thrifting and being as though I don’t need not naaaahhhhhlllll ‘nother piece of furniture, I’ll only be returning for work clothing and books. I swear!

Oh, and my garden is thriving. My mother and my grandmother used to always tell me that the key is to talk to your plants. I think it works.

So, there’s a real updated in less than 400 words. What’s new on your end?

Girl I thought I lost you for a second. I was dying to peep into your life. I like seeing hard working women juggle life! It inspires me to be great, do great, and live on great. Congratulations to the kids. Good grades and recognitions are always a blessing. Please get your doctorate. I want to see what it looks like. I want to know what the experience is like. I will be following in your footsteps but slowly. I’m living vicarious through you. And I love it.

Blessings all around. I know you will go far.

Congrats on getting your masters! So you have a Pre-k graduate too! That’s great!

BTW, mount your TV on the WALL above your mantle–that’s how are’s is. Luckily, the people we bought our house from left the wall mount behind when they moved out! Just an fyi, in case you ever decide you liked your old arrangement. 😉

OMG at your television! It looks like my busted up iphone but I know your TV…omg! Congrats to your son & Omg at your daughter. I would’ve never thought you had babies because you show no sign of stress. I think if I had kids, I would be bald because of all the stress and freaking out!

Congrats on your garden! It’s sooo difficult to grow anything here in Vegas! Boy do I envy you! Got any tips?

So proud of you and your accomplishments future Dr. Carla Buckner! Girl, you are doing a lot of wonderful things and I wish you nothing but success. I am sorry to hear that your mantle and your TV didn’t get a long but can’t wait to see what you did with the space in lieu of that issue. And your garden looks fabulous, I wish I had the green thumb. I tried to garden last year, I think I saw a few sprouts and then nothing but death lol

I know you are a proud mother! Your kids are beautiful and have grown so much!!

You inspire me to not take a break from school. I know so many people that just stop after their Bachelor’s or wait forever to go get their Master’s but I never understood why. I know if I take any type of break, I probably will not look back. Might as well get it all done at once.

I love love love thrifting. I don’t know when I will stop, if I ever lol.

Just asking – what plants do you grow in your garden?
