Today is the first of the last quarter of 2018. I’m spending it relaxing on the couch in front the television after three consecutive weekends spent away from the house. Last weekend, we went to the Hot Air Balloon Festival, finally saw Hotel Transylvania, and shopping. This weekend was spent at my nephew’s Homecoming game, and also my university’s homecoming. It was the first year my siblings and I all went as a family. We ended the weekend with an Sunday evening dinner. I’ve been doing the most with hosting in my home and I absolutely love it.
With more event-filled weekends away from the house ahead, it feels good to be in the space where I’m exhausted from a night out filled with fun rather than the woes of a chaotic and toxic work environment.
It’s been quite an eventful year for me. And while I take a moment to review my goals and all that I’ve accomplished, for the most part I am definitely on target to achieving my primary goals. I increased my income and also changed employers where I absolutely love the culture and environment. I’ve completed my thesis draft and recently received a defense date and if all goes well, I’ll be finishing my Master’s Degree this Fall. I’ve automated my savings and my only issue is that I didn’t do that sooner. I’ve started working out my regularly. And most importantly, I am mentally at peace.
So here’s to October, November, and December. As 2018 comes to a close, I hope fourth quarter is full of more accomplishments for you all!
