I picked up this candle today from Bath & Body Works because it perfectly describes what I hope for every Sunday evening. Life hasn’t slowed down one bit and the weekends last all but a second. I’ve given up on trying to get a head start on the week by planning because it does nothing but cause unnecessary stress since things change constantly throughout the week. At this point, it’s just better to be in the state of mind to allow myself to pivot when need be. I clean as much as I can throughout the week, straighten up on the Saturday, and do the bare minimum on Sundays. Even if that means stepping over noisy toys, pushing the clothes down in the hamper to make room for more clothes, or turning on the dryer for the fourth time in a row to avoid folding clothes.
Next weekend I’m planning for an extension all the way til Wednesday. Perhaps I’ll get through some things on my to-do list, especially since one of those things includes rest.
Happy Sunday.

April 12, 2021 at 5:41 amRest is something I wish I didn’t take for granted when I was younger. It seems as if it’s just some foreign, unachievable concept now. Planning helps to an extent, but like you said, things change and you find your plans subject to so much change, that you shouldn’t even have made them. I hope that you can truly find time to be able to rest and relax. It’s so important & essential.
