Leaves are gathering in the yard even though it still reaches temps in the 90s here. We’ve had a few cool mornings here and there a couple of weeks ago. I even thought I smelled the change in the air, but that didn’t last long. This week is supposed to have morning temps in the 50s. I guess this is a redo of our transition to Fall. I’m definitely looking forward to it.
My summer was filled with football camps, cheer camps, baseball, road trips to the beach, and a quick, kid-free flight to Miami during Labor Day weekend. After giving Miami a second chance, I can honestly say I’m good on never returning. But it was a nice few days to have some slow mornings, something I haven’t had in a very long time. It made me miss traveling and exploring new places and I hope to get back into doing that soon.
Since it’s officially Fall now, I’m looking forward to my absolute favorite time of the year: Football & Festivals. Football for my son and his middle school team, checking out high school games on Friday nights, attending Saturday morning games for my nephew, and festivals for my youngest who’ll finally get a chance to experience it all since the pandemic. Cheer season is about to begin for my daughter and niece and my other niece is playing Fall Softball. Maybe I’ll even blow the dust off my camera and start shooting again just for the fun of it. It’s become second nature to be so present in the moment, which I love, but sometimes I also wish I would have captured something. I need to find that balance again.
