I love Bre’s Black Girl Watching lists so I wanted to do something similar.. especially since this is all that my life consists of lately. Reading I just finished reading The Secret Lives of Church Ladies. This should probably go under the listening category, but I’ll add it here. Earlier this year, I purposely decided not to quantify my reading goal. I also didn’t necessarily determine the type of books I wanted to read, just that I wanted to do more reading. The Art of Thrifting

I was introduced to thrifting at a young age when I would accompany my mother to thrift stores. She would rummage and sift through things to find the treasures that caught her quick eye. During this process, I learned that the trick was always to look really deep and really far. That one person's trash is another person's treasure. That patience is truly a virtue.
