Road Trippin’ — SU Pride + Texas State Fair

"This is the last lengthy road trip I'm taking this year." This was the immediate thought I had when my alarm sounded off at 6AM on my OFF day. We were headed back to Texas to show our alumni pride for Southern University. We last visited Dallas Labor Day weekend for a battle of the bands event, my brother drove out here for Homecoming, and we were headed back for the State Fair Football Showdown during the Texas State Fair.

Today is the first of the last quarter of 2018. I’m spending it relaxing on the couch in front the television after three consecutive weekends spent away from the house. Last weekend, we went to the Hot Air Balloon Festival, finally saw Hotel Transylvania, and shopping. This weekend was spent at my nephew’s Homecoming game, and also my university’s homecoming. I knew quite some time had gone by since my last update, but it didn’t register with me that it has been almost two months. I never intend for that much time to pass, but when I’m focused on something, priorities shift as needed. A lot has occurred within the last few months that have contributed to this shift.
