After I few months here, I’ve finally gotten the chance to get rid of the red painted entryway and paint it a neutral color. The plan was to install a textured wallpaper here, but I couldn’t wait around for that and got tired of the maroon color that was there. So here I am.. And this will have to do for now. This is the view from the formal dining area turned office and “make-up studio.” Disregard the clutter, it was UAT week with the client and things are a bit crazy. And perhaps sooner than later my handyman will finally install my sliding barn doors but whatever.

I was out thrifting and I found a table that seemed perfect for the area so I brought it home to see how it’d look. The other pieces that are here are pieces that I already had except for the orange pot and the basket. I also found those thrifted and added those items here for the time being.

I’ve been told that my house is 50 Shades of Beige, but I’m absolutely fine with that. I love the look of natural light throughout a home with a neutral palette so that’s what I’m going for. Neutral, earthy tones with contemporary-modern-rustic decor if that makes any sense at all. It does in my head. And I also love a neutral home where pieces of furniture and decor bring in the color. Like beautiful lilies that bloom indoors. Walmart had them priced reasonably low so I grabbed a few and arranged them together.

We’ve made significant progress and there’s still a ways to go, but I can see the difference. I think what I love the most is how all of the colors in the living area are coming together. We’re taking it one room at a time.
